Even as a kid, I collected old stuff. All my family did! It must be something in our blood that warms us to old, dusty, forgotten objects with the immediate thought of "I can do something with that!"

It helps tremendously that we also grew up with 'busy hands.' Always making something. Which is great because all those dusty treasures can pile up and what fun is it to keep them hidden away?

Domestic Papers combines my desire to share my vintage images and items with my love of making something new to create modern, useful books you'd be happy to use yourself or proud to give as a gift.

From the first thrill of discovering discarded pages to the satisfaction of carefully wrapping a handmade book for shipping, I find every step in my creative process to be fascinating and joyful.

So many steps are involved in bookbinding- designing a format, selecting materials, cutting, folding, gluing, sewing... and I use all archival materials so that the "homemade books...with a past" that I create today will last well into the future.

Everyday, I can't wait to dig into my treasure trove of vintage maps, postcards, and ephemera and make something new. So tell me... what new/old book can I make for you?
